About Ricky Hatton

British professional boxer who competed from 1997 to 2012, known as "the Hitman" and "the Pride of Hyde". He held world titles at light welterweight and welterweight, and fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas. A passionate Manchester City supporter, he was as famous for the travelling support that followed him as for his body punching. He later worked as a promoter and trainer, and died in September 2025.
