Major League Baseball is the top professional baseball league in North America, made up of 30 teams split evenly between the American League and National League. Formed through the 1903 National Agreement between the two leagues and merged into a single organization in 2000, MLB culminates each season in the World Series, a best-of-seven championship between the two league pennant winners.
